  1. Vincent and me k_2010(p)

You know from the very first time I heard Don McLean’s “Vincent” I felt as if it was a part of my soul. Too many times when I listen to it I feel (fear?) that on that day that I fall and loose my battle I’ll play that song and it will be somewhere that they can find when they, also, find my body.

  2. Positive thoughts instead of happy thoughts dark depression

When faced with a problem a lot of us typically latch on to the negative issues because, quite naturally, that stuff hurts. The first thing we end up doing is focusing on the bad (but we don’t have to stay on it) instead of the solution. The key here is we don’t have to stay focused on those negatives.

  4. I don’t suck k_2010(p)

I don’t suck. Nor will I accept the beliefs of anyone who thinks that I do. That’s something I just can’t afford to do. I don’t believe them when they say that I’m old, stupid, worthless and useless. I’m none of those things except old – and that’s not a bad thing – and I definitely don’t suck!!

  6. Crazy ’95 dark depression

In the year of our Lord 1995 I was teetering on the edge of sanity. Depression kicked in hard at the beginning of the year when I had to give up on a job that seemed perfect because my body couldn’t hack working inside a freezer. Instead I had to continue delivering folk’s food to them, driving my vehicle into the ground, and feeling like a total no-count.

  9. Loneliness sucks santa_funk

No bout a-doubt it; however being in a romantic, semi-romantic or even casually romantic relationship with another does not determine a person’s value or worth. Yeah, being alone and facing the difficulties of life can be extremely depressing (I so know this), yet we must take caution against allowing those feelings to lead us into accepting negative perceptions of ourselves.

  10. Out of the fog dark depression

But your faith holds true and after a while the dawn of a new day begins to brush away the darkness. The density of the fog fights to carry on the battle, but it too loses ground to the sunlight fading with every step of the approaching day.

Then it happens. The road once hidden by the night is illuminated by a brilliant dawn of the new day and you’re able to see a clear path ahead. You can navigate that road with renewed confidence in the light of day and even though you still have such a long way to go fear of the uncertainties ahead diminish. It’s time to forge ahead.

    Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

  11. American message from one of your own dark depression

With the way my life has been going lately this song from Peter Gabriel – “Don’t Give Up” – is so poignant. I really want to write something about my currently drained state of emotion and depression, but finding the words hard to come by right now. The message in this song as well as the mood of the music pretty well sums it up so…. check it.

today I feel like crawling deep down into some underground cavern and burying myself there. I’m less than two hours from attending an event that has the potential to positively effect my career in automotive journalism 200% and I’m sitting here writing because I seriously don’t feel like going. 14. Standing on my own for the first time Jacqui Lang with horse

When you suffer from depression, its easy to rely on your romantic partner to hold you up. When a perfectly healthy and strong person allows themselves to be held up by someone else, its as if they’re using a wheelchair to get around. Their legs get weak.

  15. Depression can be like sex Jacqui Lang with horse

Depression, in a weird way, can be like sex, or a person’s sexuality. It changes and evolves as we grow. Things we took so seriously when we were younger are things that we can now look back on and laugh.
