Wow. We’re out of gas.
So this whole gas shortage thing is kind of strange.? It was created by an invalid valid reason and now we’re caught up in the snowball effect.? It feels so surreal to me.
I kind of expected something like this at some point, but I always imagined it accompanied by war torn streets, burned out buildings and gray skies.? It doesn’t look anything like that Road Warrior stuff.? Everything is kind of business as usual, well except at the gas stations.
Typical of human nature lots of folks are upset, calling the whole thing ridiculous and blaming people as morons.? I’m just kind of taking it in stride with a touch of humor.? There’s not a lot I can do about it anyway.? I’m not gonna up my stress level by getting bent out of shape about it.
Instead I just went quietly about finding out how, when and where I would be able to get gas in my vehicle and took care of business.? I didn’t fill up my tank.? Somebody else might need that other half as I put enough in there to get me to next weekend.? They’re forecasting things should be much better by then.
It’s kind of doubtful that will bring prices down much so I’m just trying to make it through.? Been a great lesson for everybody, I think.
This morning when I opened my email at work I had a message from a co-worker looking for somebody to carpool with.? My employer has been pushing the whole carpool thing since this spring.? That’s pretty cool, but sad that gas prices finally made it the “right thing to do.”
