Ruth came down to visit and create some art with me last weekend. The weekend was so productive and so much fun that it’s taken me better than half of this week to recover. The lady is aw… Oops, I’m not allowed to say that word anymore. The lady is incredible.
Ruth is a fabulous model/artist with her short career packed full of beautiful, artistic image after image. I can remember being floored the day I learned that she wanted to shoot with me. After this past weekend I’m even more blown away by how incredible she is because she’s not just great at the making of art, Ruth is a talented, witty, very intelligent, and fun person to be around.
We had been chatting for about a year over the internet and telephone so a bit of a friendship in mutual admiration was already in place. I’ve always had fun talking to her then, but now person to person made for even more fun.
I love being around creative artists and collaborating with folks to make something magical, but add that into the experience with someone who I just appreciate hanging out with and I’m dancing on clouds or some other cool thing like that. So my usual quiet weekend of fun with my little family was invaded by a great time with a friend from across the way. Mucho fun.? Yes it was.
Ah, yes, the point of the get together was to collaborate on some art creation. Over the course of three days we handled that plan with much excellence. Oh yeah, that’s right. I am gonna leave you hangin’ by sparing you the narrative of details. What I will say is art happens long into the post midnight hours. I need to brush up on my skills of finding the right soul food restaurant, but I’m not bad at stumblin’ upon nice places to shop. Jak has a way of winning the hearts of young ladies. Larry has a cool office to shoot in, and there are ways to get me to go shopping in a mall.
Ruth, you’re aw… innnncredible. Lookin’ forward to our next round of fun with art and thangs. I promise to make better rice, too.
