We all tend to have songs that we relate to for various reasons.  I could write you a book of the ones that are dear to me in that manor, but this one from Talk Talk1 cut through to my soul from the very first time I ever heard it.

I think that it’s so important to me because the lyrics aren’t as personal to me as they are descriptive of how I view life in this world.  The images from this video depict the creatures of this world as the back drop.  When I think of the words and those images together I always get the feeling of what life really is about.

So to me it’s more of me and my connection to life.  And, of course, the sounds of the 80′s.

It’s My Life2 ~ Talk Talk (Mark Hollis and Tim Friese-Greene)

Funny how I find myself in love with you
If I could buy my reasoning I’d pay to lose
One half won’t do
I’ve asked myself
How much do you commit yourself?

It’s my life
Don’t you forget
It’s my life
It never ends

Funny how I blind myself
I never knew if I was sometimes played upon
Afraid to lose,
I’d tell myself what good you do
Convince myself

It’s my life
Don’t you forget
It’s my life
It never ends

I’ve asked myself
How much do you commit yourself?

It’s my life
Don’t you forget
Caught in the crowd
It never ends
