“I Try” is not just a romantic song

If you stop and think about it this song by Angela Bofill¹ goes beyond the perceived romantic statement.  Listen carefully and consider the lyrics.  This song is a message of the Spirit of Life, the Spirit of Love trying to let us know how dear and important we really are.

I was reflecting on this matter this evening and thinking about how often I will shut the door on the very thing that I need most in my life.  I turn away from the guidance and support wanting instead to hide inside my shell where I seek comfort for my pain in the darkness.  Of course it never comes, but I choose the familiar route afraid of being “hurt” even more.

Just as in the song, the Spirit of Life is calling out to me, and to us, to open the door and allow the wonders of true love and life come in.  Is it really just a matter of time?
