For the past week I have been quite busy putting together an artistic project website call the Backstage Project. Typical of the way I do things I start on a project and work on it practically full time until I’ve reached a satisfactory level of construction. In this case it’s putting together the initial pieces for public inspection.

Free to myself again
as I guided my car up the exit lane my scream singing gave way to a momentary prayer of thanks. As the song played on ’til its end I soaked in the moment no longer heavy hearted that she took her love away. I knew at that moment what she was about and why it wasn’t a good thing for her and I to be linked as romantic partners.

Ooops, meh.

This is Emily
When I first met and shot with this little lady she was three years old. Even at that young age she showed a natural talent for working those poses. She’s eight now, wants to be a model and can still work a pose. I think she’s onto something.

Once you get started
Weekend nights early 1975. Me, Nelson, Kathi, & Willie would pile into either Nelson’s or my mother’s Ford Pinto and head out to the parties out at MSU. Typically Ted, Gary, Billy, and Iceberg would meet up with us out there along with a few other members of our crowd and we’d spend those nights dancing away.

Frozen

Friday already?
A lot of people think modeling is looking pretty or sexy for a picture. It’s not. Modeling is in the sense of purposeful making of pictures/images is portraying a role in a scene. The model may or may not be the main subject of that image, but the model’s role is to sell that image (as in make it seem believable or natural) to the viewer.
