Thunderbird crossing

The moment all had been waiting for was about to come.  Soon there would be no more pain.  No more confusion.  The answers would be told.  Peace would abide bringing about the time of love with happiness.  The dream of hope would be no more as the prayer turns to a song of joy giving praise.  It was here.  Life.  True and complete.  The pain of death and stench of evil gone.  Nothing, but love and life complete.
Everyone had gathered there at the point with joyful anticipation.  In unison, like souls holding hands, all eyes looked to the eastern sky waiting, and searching for the first glimpse of the arrival.  A light murmur of hushed voices gave wind to this peaceful feeling of hope now turned to glad expectation.  Everyone was ready.  Everyone was care free.  All troubles were soon to be over.  Everyone believed.  All hearts were full of joy.  Soon it would be here.
And as we all waited looking to the east it drifted in from the western sky, set down to earth and silently slipped away.
Morning came or was it years to centuries past dawning on a world of confused and distraught hearts wandering with occasional glimpses to the sky still searching and wondering what happened and where it went.
Timeless.
