Blisters
From the 1973 album Deliver The Word1 by War2 here’s the final track, “Blisters.” A tune that inspires me to envision an old porch during the summer drought somewhere out on the delta as evening has settled in.

Reference“I had always wanted to record a whole section of just harmonicas, then have one other instrument play lead, so I told (saxophonist) Charles Miller, ‘I have an idea I want to try.’ First I laid down six harmonica parts. Then I recorded my foot tapping and my fingers snapping. And then I had Charles play sax on top of that, and that was it,” explained the song’s writer Lee Oskar. – from the CD liner notes written by Barry Alfonso
