Gil Scott-Heron was more than just a musician with songs of political commentary. He was the physical embodiment of the spirit consciousness that simmered underneath Black Americans during the sixties and seventies. He sounded the bell of pending change with the uncompromising message “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised,” a song which soon became the anthem in the hearts of Black America and all who desired real change from the overload reign of capitalistic western civilization society known as America, land of the free.
This song is pointed at the false profit leaders who attain great wealth by preaching about giving much money to The Kingdom of God which just so happens to have the proper pathway through their ministries; however the words ring true for many cases.
