The full, uncut version of the opening track to Maceo Parker’s 1992 album Life On Planet Groove. Funky music served up by one of the originators from the James Brown style of getting down.
From the 1973 album Deliver The Word by War here’s the final track, “Blisters.” A tune that inspires me to envision an old porch during the summer drought somewhere out on the delta as evening has settled in.
You know from the very first time I heard Don McLean’s “Vincent” I felt as if it was a part of my soul. Too many times when I listen to it I feel (fear?) that on that day that I fall and loose my battle I’ll play that song and it will be somewhere that they can find when they, also, find my body.

Playing around with my buddy Tiffany and a borrowed lens, this image reminded me of a famous story and the related song by the Jefferson Airplane.
